JD Vance defends Trump administration's media access restrictions

Vice President JD Vance has defended President Donald Trump’s decision to restrict White House access for CNN, MSNBC, and Politico. Speaking to reporters before a trip to North Carolina, Vance argued that the administration is not banning the outlets but rather denying them “special access” due to what he characterized as “far-left propaganda.” Vance claimed these outlets produce a disproportionate amount of negative coverage regarding the administration, which he stated is not representative of public opinion.

During a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, Vance also addressed economic concerns, stating that America has become a place where wealth is required to maintain an ordinary life. During his speech, he also made a verbal slip, accidentally referring to the “far left” as the “fart left,” which he quickly corrected.

The move to restrict access has prompted legal action from the affected news organizations.
