JD Vance plans South American tour and North Carolina campaign rally

Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to undertake a regional tour of South America in late November. The itinerary includes a planned stop in Argentina to discuss regional security cooperation and bilateral trade with the administration of Javier Milei. Discussions are also underway for a high-level visit to Santiago, Chile, to meet with President José Antonio Kast, which would represent a significant diplomatic engagement following a period of cooled ties.

The tour, which aligns with the Security Shield of the Americas initiative, may also include stops in Peru, Ecuador, or Colombia. In the United States, Vance is also scheduled to appear in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on October 19 to support Republican candidate Jennifer Balkcom in a competitive congressional race for North Carolina’s 11th District.
