JD Vance tells Florida's Angie Nixon she does not belong in America
During a campaign rally in Lakeland, Florida, Vice President JD Vance told Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Angie Nixon that she does not belong in America due to her self-described socialist views. Speaking at an event supporting Republican Senator Ashley Moody, Vance stated, “If those are your views... then get the hell out of here.” He criticized Nixon’s platform, which includes support for union organizing and addressing the cost of living, labeling her a “self-professed socialist” and questioning her stance on policing and prisons.
Nixon responded via social media, asserting that Florida is her home and stating, “I’m not going any damn place.” She accused Vance and Moody of prioritizing billionaire allies over working families and rejected the notion that her policy priorities, such as healthcare and property insurance, are un-American. The exchange has drawn criticism from observers regarding the Vice President's rhetoric toward a domestic political opponent.
