JDPCI and CBM launch disability rights project in Nigeria

The Justice Department and Peace Caritas Initiative (JDPCI), an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, has launched the ‘Bold Action for Advancing Disability Rights and Inclusive Development Project’. In partnership with Christian Blind Mission (CBM) International, the three-year initiative aims to improve disability inclusion across Benue, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in North Central Nigeria.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Sanni, Executive Director of JDPCI, emphasized the need for stakeholders to address barriers in education, healthcare, livelihoods, employment, and political participation. The project seeks to strengthen disability-inclusive systems and support the participation of persons with disabilities in community development and decision-making processes.
