JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar hospitalized in Patna following heart complications

Neeraj Kumar, the Janata Dal (United) candidate for the Patna Graduates' constituency in the Bihar Legislative Council election, has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Medanta Hospital following heart-related complications. Kumar, a three-time MLC and party spokesperson, was hospitalized late Monday night due to a pre-existing heart condition.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi visited the hospital to enquire about his health. While the medical team is monitoring his condition, an official detailed medical bulletin has not yet been released.

The hospitalization occurs amid intense political friction within the JD(U). Mokama MLA Anant Singh has openly criticized Kumar and is actively campaigning for the Jan Suraaj candidate, Dr. Anuj Singh. Singh has dismissed reports of Kumar's illness as “drama,” alleging the episode is intended to avoid campaign expenses. Singh has also faced legal scrutiny, with three new FIRs filed against him regarding alleged violations of the election code of conduct.
