Jean Bouveri Hospital governance questioned by CODEF

The hospital users' collective CODEF has raised concerns regarding the governance and identity of the Jean Bouveri Hospital in Saint-Vallier. Following an official visit by the Prefect of Saône-et-Loire and the Sub-Prefect of Autun to the municipality, CODEF noted that the hospital was omitted from the official press report of the visit, despite its status as an essential local facility.

CODEF has previously submitted formal inquiries to the Prefect regarding the legal and administrative framework of the hospital's supervisory board. Key questions include the authority responsible for appointing board members and why the presidency of the board is held by the Mayor of Montceau-les-Mines rather than the Mayor of Saint-Vallier, where the hospital is located. The collective also seeks clarification on whether the facility's name is being transitioned from ‘Hôpital Jean Bouveri’ to ‘Hôpital de Montceau-les-Mines’ and by what authority such a change would occur.
