Former Peruvian national football player Jean Deza has addressed a recent physical altercation that occurred on a street in Callao on July 31. In an interview with journalist Franco Lostaunau, Deza admitted to losing control during the confrontation, stating, “there was a moment where I had him so crossed that I lost control.”

Witness accounts suggest the incident began after Deza allegedly responded to greetings from bystanders with insults, leading to a verbal dispute that escalated into a fight. One neighbor reported that Deza returned to the scene minutes later with other individuals to continue the altercation.

During the same interview, Deza addressed public criticism regarding his professional football career. Rejecting claims that he is a failure, he highlighted his experience playing in Europe and for the national team, asserting, “I do not feel like a failure.”
