Jean-Jacques Goldman celebrates 75th birthday

French singer-songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman is celebrating his 75th birthday on October 11, 2026. Known for his discretion and preference for a quiet life in Marseille, Goldman has largely stepped away from the spotlight since his last tour in 2002 and his departure from the Enfoirés in 2016.

Beyond his own performances, Goldman is recognized for his significant impact as a songwriter for other major artists. His contributions include the record-breaking album ‘D’eux’ for Céline Dion, as well as works for Johnny Hallyday, Patricia Kaas, and Florent Pagny.

Recent reports from collaborators, such as arranger Erick Benzi, suggest that health issues related to osteoarthritis have made it difficult for him to continue singing or playing the guitar, signaling a definitive end to his stage career.
