Jean Massillon: National funerals planned for Kenscoff official
National funeral arrangements are being prepared for Jean Massillon, the interim executive agent of Kenscoff, following his death on October 9, 2026. The ceremony is scheduled for the morning of Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Kenscoff Baptist field.
Family members and the Minister of the Interior and Territorial Collectivities, Paul Antoine Bien-Aimé, met to finalize the arrangements. While authorities intend to honor Massillon with a national tribute, his brother, Christophe Massillon, noted that an autopsy cannot be performed because the country’s only available forensic pathologist is currently abroad. This lack of medical examination has led to questions regarding the exact circumstances of his death.
Jude Édouard Pierre, former mayor of Carrefour and former president of the National Federation of Haitian Mayors (FENAMH), paid tribute to Massillon, praising his commitment to the people of Kenscoff despite significant security risks. Pierre also used the occasion to criticize the lack of institutional support and police assistance provided to local elected officials in Haiti.
