Jean-Michel Jarre announces 50th anniversary reissue of Oxygène
Jean-Michel Jarre is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his groundbreaking electronic music album, Oxygène, with a new series of physical and digital reissues. Originally released in 1976, the album has sold over 18 million copies worldwide.
The anniversary edition, scheduled for release via BMG on November 20, 2026, features a new remastering of the original 1976 stereo mix created directly from the original analog tapes. This process aims to preserve the unique depth and character of the original recording rather than modernizing its sound.
Available formats include 180-gram black vinyl, half-speed-mastered vinyl engraved by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, CD, and limited edition colored eco-vinyl. A special Blu-ray mediabook will also present the album in Dolby Atmos for the first time, alongside a new 5.1 mix and archival material.
