Jean Onana discusses career and potential return to Portugal

Cameroonian midfielder Jean Onana, currently a free agent, has reflected on his career and expressed interest in returning to Portuguese football. Onana credited Leixões SC for providing him with essential playing time during his transition to senior football, a move that eventually led to his transfer to Lille in 2020.

Discussing his recent time in Italy, Onana noted that while his experience at Genoa was challenging due to a lack of stability and physical issues, he valued the opportunity to play in Serie A. He also expressed high respect for coach Daniele De Rossi, describing it as a privilege to work with him.

Onana is currently training individually in northern Portugal to regain physical fitness. He stated that he remains ambitious and open to various opportunities, noting that his physical characteristics align well with the style of Portuguese football.
