Jean Paul Pineda detained for domestic violence and contempt

Former footballer Jean Paul Pineda has been placed in preventive detention following a formalization hearing for charges of minor injuries and contempt of court. The legal action stems from an incident on Sunday involving an alleged assault against his former partner at a motel in the San Bernardo commune.

According to reports, the incident occurred following an argument inside a room. Motel employees alerted authorities after hearing screams, at which point Pineda reportedly fled the scene. He was later apprehended by Carabineros around 5:00 PM. The victim subsequently underwent medical examinations to confirm the injuries.

This incident follows a history of domestic violence allegations against Pineda. He previously faced judicial proceedings in March 2024 and October 2025 involving other partners, which resulted in court-ordered restraining orders.
