Jean-Éric Vergne clinches second place at Shanghai Formula E race

French driver Jean‑Éric Vergne finished second in Round 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the Shanghai International Circuit. Starting from 18th on the grid, Vergne and teammate Nick Cassidy were given opposite car set‑ups – Vergne for a drying track, Cassidy for wet conditions – and distinct energy‑management plans. The strategy paid off for Vergne, who built a strong energy advantage, activated Attack Mode twice and surged through the field to challenge race‑winner Lucas di Grassi under Full‑Course Yellow conditions. The battle concluded with di Grassi taking the win and Vergne crossing the line just behind him, while Cassidy, affected by the yellow‑flag period, finished 16th.
