Jean Silva eyes UFC featherweight title after UFC Noche victory

Brazilian UFC fighter Jean Silva has positioned himself as a top contender for the featherweight title following a submission victory over José Delgado at UFC Noche. After securing the win via rear-naked choke, Silva earned a ‘performance of the night’ bonus and expressed his desire to fight the winner of the Alexander Volkanovski vs. Movsar Evloev matchup.

Silva also addressed his standing within the division, noting that former champion Ilia Topuria’s move to the lightweight division has cleared his path. While Silva previously admitted to imitating Topuria’s style, he now claims to have developed a faster, distinct approach to combat.

Additionally, Silva engaged in a verbal confrontation with former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. Rejecting a suggestion for an eliminator bout, Silva criticized Sterling’s social media presence and asserted that he does not need an extra fight to earn a title shot.
