Jean Valvis returns to Rapid Bucharest as sponsor

Businessman Jean Valvis has officially returned to Rapid Bucharest as a sponsor through his brand, Aqua Carpatica. Victor Angelescu, the club’s president and minority shareholder, confirmed that the sponsorship agreement has been finalized, noting that Valvis is a long-time supporter of the club.

While the current agreement focuses on sponsorship, there is ongoing speculation regarding whether Valvis might eventually enter the club’s shareholding structure. Angelescu expressed that having a financially strong partner would be beneficial, though any change in ownership would require the approval of majority shareholder Dan Șucu.

In contrast, former LPF president Dumitru Dragomir expressed skepticism regarding Valvis becoming a major shareholder. Dragomir suggested that Valvis is a businessman who may not invest massive sums into football and argued that Dan Șucu would likely not agree to such a change in the club’s ownership.
