Jeddah expands public parks and walkways for community sports
Jeddah is seeing a significant increase in the use of public parks, walkways, and waterfronts for community sports and physical activity. This trend is expected to be a central feature for residents and visitors during the ‘Saudi Summer 2026’ season.
The Jeddah Municipality is actively expanding and developing urban infrastructure, including 28 walking and sports tracks distributed across residential neighborhoods, central parks, and waterfronts. Key locations such as Prince Majid Park, Al-Saja Gardens, and Al-Ajwad Park feature dedicated paths for walking and cycling.
These developments align with the Ministry of Sport’s ‘Community Sports in Public Parks’ initiative, a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing. The program aims to promote ‘sports for all’ by providing accessible, stimulating environments for various age groups, supporting the quality of life goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
