Saudi Arabia is advancing its digital and infrastructural capabilities through several key initiatives. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the High Commission for Industrial Security, inaugurated ‘Marqab’, a unified platform and operations center. The platform provides 123 automated services and integrates with over 30 government entities and vital facilities to enhance industrial security, crisis management, and rapid emergency response.
In the urban development sector, Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail opened the third edition of the International Facility Management Conference and Exhibition 2026. The event focuses on ‘Smart Facilities and Smart Cities,’ highlighting a facility management market in Saudi Arabia valued at over $50 billion. The ministry aims to leverage data and artificial intelligence to optimize asset management in preparation for major upcoming events like Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.
Additionally, the fifth edition of the Global Project Management Forum commenced in Riyadh. Under the theme ‘Next Generation Project Management: Human Capital, Operations, and Technology,’ the forum brings together international experts to discuss business transformations and improve project execution efficiency.
