Jeddah Municipality lifts red zone restrictions on thousands of land plots

The Jeddah Municipality has announced the removal of the “red zone” restrictions from several land plots in the southern region, facilitating urban development and municipal services. This decision affects 3,787 plots within the Al-Mulaissa plans, as well as 1,147 plots located in the Taiba and Jawharat Al-Arus plans.

With the removal of these restrictions, landowners can now apply for building permits, begin construction, and request essential services such as electricity, water, and sewage. The municipality has issued circulars to engineering offices and consultancy firms to facilitate the issuance of survey decisions and construction licenses through approved electronic channels.

To date, a total of 4,934 plots have had their red zone restrictions lifted. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to address undeveloped land and unplanned layouts. The move is expected to stimulate the real estate market in southern Jeddah and support the housing goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
