Jeddah to host 27th Arab Gulf Cup starting September 23
The 27th edition of the Arab Gulf Cup, known as ‘Khaleeji 27’, is scheduled to begin in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on September 23. Held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the tournament will run until October 6.
Eight national teams will compete in a total of 15 matches. The matches will take place at King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City. This marks the first time Jeddah has hosted the tournament.
The group stages are organized as follows:
Group One: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Kuwait. Group Two: Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Yemen.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, the Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, noted that the tournament coincides with Saudi National Day celebrations. The local organizing committee has completed logistical, transport, and facility preparations for the participating teams, media, and fans.
