Jeden svet festival to premiere documentary on Slovak public media

The 27th edition of the Jeden svet International Documentary Film Festival will open with the premiere of the Slovak documentary ‘Preladenie’ (Tuning) by director Sára Prokopová.

The film captures the internal transformation of the public broadcaster from RTVS to STVR, filmed directly within the institution's corridors. It depicts the period when the broadcaster faced pressure from new political powers, leading to a shrinking space for independent journalism and the formation of a strike committee by journalists defending their profession.

Festival director Eva Križková stated that the film embodies this year’s theme, ‘Putá’ (Bonds), representing both the suppression of journalists and the connections the festival maintains with the Slovak documentary scene and young creators.
