Jedlicze parents donate organs of three-year-old son after fatal accident

The parents of a three-year-old boy from Jedlicze, Poland, have decided to donate his organs for transplantation following his death. The child, known as Miecio, passed away in a Rzeszów hospital on Friday after sustaining critical injuries.

The accident occurred on Monday during a rescue demonstration at a local kindergarten, conducted by medical rescue students and lecturers from the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno. During the demonstration, the boy was struck by an ambulance.

The boy's mother, who noted that both parents are medical professionals, shared the decision on social media, stating they wanted their son to continue existing through others. The prosecutor's office is investigating the incident; the ambulance driver and two kindergarten caregivers have been detained, though no formal charges have been filed at this time.
