Jeep and Ram delay upcoming extended-range EV models

Jeep and Ram are facing production delays for their upcoming extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), which utilize a 3.6-liter V-6 engine to power a generator that charges a 400-volt battery.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer Hybrid, originally slated for production in May, is now expected to begin production in November. This model features a 92 kWh battery and is designed to provide a combined range of approximately 805 kilometers.

The Ram 1500 REV, previously known as the Ramcharger, has also seen its timeline shift. While a Ram spokesperson indicated plans for a 2027 arrival, reports suggest the vehicle may arrive in mid-April 2027. These delays are reportedly intended to ensure a smooth rollout of the new plug-in hybrid powertrain system shared by both models.
