Jeep introduces sixth-generation Cherokee Trailhawk
Jeep has introduced the Trailhawk version of its sixth-generation Cherokee. Built on the STLA Large modular platform, the vehicle is classified as a compact SUV in the United States and a mid-size vehicle by European standards.
The Cherokee features a fully hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with two electric motors and a planetary continuously variable transmission (CVT). This setup produces a combined maximum power of 213 hp and 312 Nm of torque. The system includes a 1.08 kWh battery located near the front seats.
As a Trailhawk model, the vehicle is optimized for off-road performance through the Jeep Active Drive II system, which includes a lower transmission gear ratio (2.92) and an electronically controlled mechanical rear differential lock. Additional off-road enhancements include an increased ground clearance of 229 mm, underbody metal protection, and specialized bumpers designed to improve approach and departure angles.
