Jeep Recon electric SUV gains horsepower but loses range

Jeep has updated the specifications for its upcoming 2026 Recon, an all-electric off-road SUV. The vehicle’s dual-motor setup now produces 670 horsepower, a 20-horsepower increase from previous estimates, while maintaining a torque of 620 lb-ft. The Recon is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 112 mph.

However, the increase in power comes alongside a reduction in estimated driving range. The Overland trim offers a maximum range of approximately 240 miles (386 km), while the Moab launch trim is rated at 222 miles (357 km). The vehicle utilizes a 110.5-kWh battery pack and a 400-volt architecture, allowing for a 5% to 80% charge in 28 minutes.

As the model prepares for dealer arrival, some reports indicate that dealers are already offering discounts. There are concerns regarding whether the Recon will see high sales volumes, similar to other recent electric vehicle launches from Stellantis.
