Jeff Bezos sells $350 million of Amazon stock as company tops $3 trillion valuation

Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and executive chair, sold roughly $350 million worth of Amazon shares in his first transaction of the year, part of a broader plan to dispose of up to 15 million shares valued at more than $4 billion. The sale was disclosed in a Form 4 filing after Amazon’s shares hit an all‑time high and the company’s market capitalisation surpassed $3 trillion.

Despite the sale, Bezos remains Amazon’s largest individual shareholder with an 8.16 % stake, valued at about $245 billion. His net worth rose by $38.7 billion this year to an estimated $292 billion, driven by an 18 % rise in Amazon’s share price. Since 2020 he has sold over $38 billion of Amazon stock and, since early 2025, has donated more than $1 billion of shares to charitable organisations. The transaction follows Amazon’s strong quarterly results, reporting $200.61 billion in revenue and an adjusted earnings per share of $1.97.
