Jeff Booth argues Bitcoin must become a currency for corporate success

Jeff Booth, co-founder of Ego Death Capital, suggests that the long-term success of companies like MicroStrategy depends on Bitcoin evolving into a functional currency rather than remaining solely a financial asset on a balance sheet. Booth argues that if Bitcoin becomes a currency, early adopters will become exceptionally valuable, but if it remains only a financial instrument, these companies may face potential government intervention.

Booth, who previously spent 15,000 hours researching potential vulnerabilities in the Bitcoin network, maintains that the protocol's decentralized consensus and proof-of-work system provide sufficient security. However, he notes ongoing risks such as mining pool concentration and the economic pressures facing miners. He advocates for a business model where companies generate cash through traditional operations before allocating a portion of those funds to Bitcoin holdings.
