Jeff Booth fails to break Bitcoin after 15,000 hours of testing

Canadian entrepreneur and investor Jeff Booth, author of ‘The Price of Tomorrow’, revealed that he spent approximately 15,000 hours attempting to find vulnerabilities in the Bitcoin network. Initially a skeptic, Booth modeled various attack scenarios involving governments, large-scale miners, and competitors to test if external powers could compromise the network's decentralization and security.

Booth concluded that the Bitcoin network remained resilient despite his efforts. He noted that the protocol's strength lies in its combination of energy consumption, decentralization, and simple rules, comparing its robustness to early internet protocols. He emphasized that while Bitcoin's market price fluctuates, the underlying security of the network has remained constant.

Despite his conviction, Booth identified ongoing risks, specifically pointing to the centralization of mining pools and the high concentration of nodes running a single client, Bitcoin Core. He suggested that market competition and the bankruptcy of unprofitable miners might eventually mitigate these centralization risks.
