Jeff Fenech hospitalized with heart issues

Australian boxing legend and four-time world champion Jeff Fenech remains hospitalized due to heart-related complications. The 62-year-old was admitted approximately ten days ago after experiencing breathing difficulties and fatigue.

Fenech’s son-in-law, rugby league player Bradman Best, provided an update in Queensland, describing the icon as a fighter who will recover. This health crisis marks the third major cardiac intervention for Fenech in seven years, following emergency surgery in Thailand in 2019 and a valve replacement procedure in 2024.

The hospitalization has impacted the training preparations for boxer Tim Tszyu, who is scheduled to fight Erislandy Lara for a world title in late November. While Fenech remains under medical care, Basil Nassis has stepped in to lead Tszyu’s training sessions.
