Jeff Hurd seeks reelection to Colorado's 3rd Congressional District

Republican Representative Jeff Hurd is seeking reelection to Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, emphasizing an independent voting record to appeal to the district’s diverse political and economic landscape. Hurd, a Grand Junction attorney, stated he is willing to go against party leadership to prioritize his constituents.

His Democratic challenger, Army veteran and former Aspen City Council member Dwayne Romero, aims to link Hurd to unpopular GOP policies and the Trump administration. Despite the challenge, Hurd holds a significant financial advantage, having raised over $3.5 million with $1.7 million in cash on hand, while Romero has raised $716,000 with $84,000 in cash on hand. Democrats have not held this seat since 2011.
