Jeff Metcalf Criticizes Karmelo Anthony's Family After Murder Sentencing

Austin Metcalf, a 19‑year‑old student, was fatally stabbed at a Frisco, Texas high‑school track meet in April 2025. Karmelo Anthony was convicted and sentenced to 35 years in prison for the killing.

Appearing on The Will Cain Show, Jeff Metcalf, Austin’s father, accused Anthony’s parents of showing no remorse, saying they never apologized or attended victim‑impact statements. He said, “They weren’t there for the sentencing and they were not there for victim impact statements… they left that poor child up there by himself.” Metcalf also criticized media figures who he felt were politicizing the case.

Anthony’s family has endured intense public scrutiny and harassment since the trial. Their legal team has begun the appeals process while maintaining the self‑defense argument.
