Jeff Metcalf refuses to apologize for racist comments following murder conviction
Jeff Metcalf, the father of Austin Metcalf, has stated that there is “no such thing” as justice for his family following the murder conviction of Karmelo Anthony. Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Texas high school track meet in April 2025.
In an interview with ABC News, Metcalf expressed that his family has received a “life sentence” due to the permanent loss of his son. Additionally, Metcalf has refused to apologize for previously making racially charged comments on a podcast, where he referred to Anthony as a “watermelon felon” and disparaged the defendant's family.
