Jeff Probst says 'Survivor' diversity practices remain unchanged

Jeff Probst, host of the reality competition series ‘Survivor’, stated that the show’s approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) remains unchanged despite broader corporate shifts. Probst described the initiative as “one of the biggest positive changes ever,” noting that diverse casting enhances the show’s narrative by bringing together people from different walks of life.

While Paramount Global previously implemented DEI initiatives across its brands, including a 2020 mandate for CBS reality programming to ensure diverse casting, many companies have since rolled back such programs. Following the acquisition of Paramount by Skydance, the company pledged to end DEI policies to satisfy regulatory requirements. However, Probst indicated that the casting team, led by Jesse Tannenbaum, continues to prioritize diversity for the sake of the show’s storytelling, stating, “There’s no stopping, not because we’re told to do it. This is what we need.”
