Jefferson Rojas emerges as top New York Mets prospect
Jefferson Rojas, a 21-year-old infielder acquired by the New York Mets, has emerged as a top prospect. Baseball America has ranked him as the 14th-hottest prospect in baseball. Since joining the Mets organization, Rojas has recorded a .281/.333/.560 slash line, including four home runs and 19 RBIs in 64 at-bats.
In recent minor league action, Rojas demonstrated outstanding bat speed while playing as the designated hitter. Other Mets prospects, such as right-hander Gary Gill Hill, are also progressing through the system. Hill, acquired in the Freddy Peralta trade, has shown strong command and a low walk rate, though scouts note he needs to refine his secondary pitches and delivery efficiency to reach his mid-rotation pitching potential.
