Jefferson Starship releases new single ‘Jetpack’

Jefferson Starship has released a new high-energy single titled ‘Jetpack’. The track was recorded at 2200 Studios, the location formerly known as the legendary Record Plant. The release features participation from longtime bassist Pete Sears.

Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Cathy Richardson noted that the lyrics were inspired by a desire to escape the everyday grind and travel into the cosmos. The song was developed from a musical hook written by guitarist Jude Gold. The release is accompanied by an official lyric video depicting an astronaut.

The band is currently on tour alongside Deep Purple, with live performances scheduled through 2027. The current lineup includes founding member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin, keyboardist Chris Smith, Jude Gold, and Cathy Richardson.
