Jeffrey Davidson and Walter Zak Retire to Greece's Peloponnese

Jeffrey Davidson, 62, and Walter Zak, 57, left their longtime home in Orlando, Florida after three decades together and retired to a coastal house in Akrata, a village on Greece’s Peloponnese peninsula. The former hospitality workers, who have been partners for more than 30 years, moved in April 2024 following a ten‑day cruise of the Greek islands that sparked their decision.

The couple describes their new life as surrounded by historic ruins and a “wonderful chaotic energy,” contrasting it with their previous residence near Walt Disney World. They enjoy day trips to Athens and exploring nearby attractions, while noting that Greece, like any location, has its own challenges such as earthquakes and forest fires.

Initially they had considered moving to the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, but high relocation costs and hurricane risk led them to choose Greece, where Walter’s ancestral roots trace back to Thessaloniki.
