Jeffrey De Lange named starting goalkeeper for Olympique de Marseille

Dutch goalkeeper Jeffrey De Lange has emerged as the primary choice for Olympique de Marseille. After spending two seasons as a backup to Geronimo Rulli, De Lange has been elevated to the number one position by manager Bruno Genesio.

Genesio confirmed the hierarchy during a press conference, stating, “Jeff is our number one. Théo Vermot is number two.” This shift follows a period where Marseille was unable to recruit new players, leaving existing squad members to fill roles. De Lange, who had played only 10 matches in his previous two seasons with the club, expressed his readiness and motivation for the new role, noting that he remains focused regardless of his standing in the squad.
