Jeffrey Sachs visits Banja Luka to discuss global economy

Columbia University professor and renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs visited Banja Luka to meet with high-ranking officials of Republika Srpska. During the meetings, Sachs discussed global economic trends, the challenges of a multipolar world, and the importance of dialogue between world leaders to reduce international tensions.

Sachs emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina, with its diverse ethnic and linguistic makeup, could serve as a model for how differences can lead to cooperation rather than conflict. He also noted that improved understanding between major powers, such as the United States and China, provides hope for global stability.

As part of his visit, the University of Banja Luka awarded Sachs an honorary doctorate for his contributions to economic relations and the peaceful resolution of international conflicts. Officials expressed a desire for continued cooperation with the economist to help navigate global economic shifts and strengthen regional development.
