Jehovah's Witnesses expand global digital and linguistic reach
The Jehovah's Witnesses organization maintains a massive digital presence through its website, jw.org, which is recognized as one of the most translated websites in the world. The site offers content in over 1,100 languages, including more than 100 sign languages and various indigenous languages, such as Guna, which is spoken in parts of Panama and Colombia.
While the organization focuses on linguistic reach to connect with people globally, the Christian site BITE has analyzed the search engine optimization (SEO) and theological content of the group. BITE conducted tests across several Latin American countries, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, and Chile, to observe how theological questions regarding the nature of God and the resurrection appear in Google search results. Critics, such as Pastor Nicolás Osorio, have expressed concerns that the group's online teachings may present views contrary to traditional Christian doctrines to those searching for biblical information.
