Jeju Air surpasses 5 million cumulative passengers on China routes

Jeju Air has surpassed 5.18 million cumulative passengers on its China routes as of July 2024. Since the airline first launched its Incheon–Qingdao service in June 2012, it has captured approximately one-third of the total passenger volume handled by South Korean low-cost carriers (LCCs) on routes to China.

According to the Korea Aviation Association, South Korean LCCs have carried a total of approximately 15.38 million passengers to China between April 2010 and July 2024. Jeju Air's passenger numbers show a strong recovery, with 427,800 passengers traveling on China routes from January to July 2024, exceeding the 423,100 recorded during the same period in 2019.

Among Jeju Air's destinations, Weihai has seen the highest cumulative passenger count at approximately 1.46 million, followed by Qingdao with 1.31 million, Beijing with 335,000, and Yanji with 303,900. The airline plans to continue expanding its network, including a new Busan–Guilin service starting in late September and increased frequencies for routes such as Busan/Daegu–Shanghai and Jeju–Chengdu/Chongqing.
