Jeju expands pet playground to include large dog area

The pet playground at the Second Animal Protection Center in Aewol-eup, Jeju, has been expanded to accommodate large dogs. The total area has increased from 930 square meters to 1,665 square meters following the addition of a 735-square-meter dedicated space for large breeds.

The newly renovated facility features eco-cork flooring and natural grass. It is equipped with amenities including fences, double entrance doors, water stations, waste bins, benches, and parasols. To ensure safety and hygiene, the area will undergo monthly disinfection.

Starting October 1, the playground will operate via an online reservation system. Usage is free for dogs that are registered and have received a rabies vaccination within the last year. The facility distinguishes between large dogs (height over 40 cm or weight over 15 kg) and medium-to-small dogs to ensure a comfortable environment for all pets.
