Jeju hosts 65th Tamna Cultural Festival

The 65th Tamna Cultural Festival commenced on October 17 in Jeju, running through October 21. Held in conjunction with the 107th National Sports Festival, the event follows the theme ‘Breath of Tamna, Passion of the Sports Festival, United Jeju.’

The festival opened with a large-scale parade involving approximately 1,700 participants, including local folk preservation societies and performance groups from international exchange cities such as Osaka, Japan; Umngovi, Mongolia; and Naga City, Philippines. The parade also served as a platform to promote the relocation of public institutions to Jeju and the city's bid to host the 2028 G20 Summit.

Key activities include the ‘Myth Road’ night walk, media art installations, and traditional folk experience zones. The program features various cultural exchanges, including the ‘Tamna Performance’ competition and the ‘Tamna Intangible Heritage Festival.’ The closing ceremony is scheduled for the afternoon of October 21.
