Jeju International Airport hits record 3.03 million international passengers
Jeju International Airport has recorded its highest-ever number of international passengers, surpassing 3.03 million travelers as of September 10. This figure exceeds the total annual performance of the previous year, marking the second consecutive year of record-breaking international traffic.
The growth is driven by a diversification of routes beyond China. Significant increases were noted in passengers from Taiwan (up 60.1%) and Japan (up 59.6%), as well as Singapore (up 65.1%). While China-related routes including Hong Kong and Macau saw a 17.4% increase, specific cities like Shanghai Pudong saw an 11.3% rise.
Flight operations have also expanded, with 18,023 international flights recorded between January and September, a 24.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The expansion of routes to Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Kaohsiung, along with the resumption of Fukuoka services and new routes to Zhengzhou and Yanji, contributed to the surge in accessibility.
