Jeju sees surge in summer tourism with new night bus tours and record airport traffic

Jeju Province and the Jeju Tourism Association began operating the weekend night‑city‑tour bus “Ya‑bam Bus” from August 24 to August 29, running Fridays and Saturdays between 7 pm and 9 pm. The open‑top, DJ‑accompanied route links the Iho‑mok lighthouse sunset, haenyeo busking, Dongmun Night Market, the Sanjicheon fountain show and the evening opening of Jeju Mokgwan‑a. Tickets cost ₩12,200 for adults and ₩8,000 for students.

For the same summer holiday period, Jeju International Airport expects about 1.54 million domestic and international travellers between July 25 and August 10, with 8,796 flights scheduled. The busiest day is projected to be August 5, when roughly 96,000 passengers are expected. The airport has activated a special summer‑traffic control headquarters, added check‑in counters, secured temporary parking, and strengthened security, drainage and passenger‑flow measures to handle the surge.
