Jeju to host 27th Island Tourism Policy Forum with 16 nations
Jeju Island and the Jeju Tourism Organization will host the 27th Island Tourism Policy Forum (ITOP Forum) from the 28th to the 30th at the Jeju Stone Park. Under the theme ‘BEYOND ISLANDS: Leaping Toward an Innovative Future Through Tourism’, the forum aims to discuss climate crisis responses, sustainable island tourism, and methods for cooperation between island regions.
The event will bring together approximately 450 participants, including representatives from island local governments across 16 countries, international organizations, and tourism experts. Notably, the Galapagos Province of Ecuador and the South Aegean region of Greece have joined as new members, marking the first expansion of the network in 13 years and extending cooperation from Asia to South America and Europe.
To facilitate practical business outcomes, the forum will feature the first ‘Island Tourism Consultation Meeting’, where 30 domestic and international buyers and sellers will engage in B2B consultations and joint product development. Additionally, the ‘2026 World Island Festival’ will be held concurrently on the 28th and 29th, offering culinary experiences, traditional folk performances, and cultural exhibitions.
