Jela Dojčinović continues active farming at 103 years old
Jela Dojčinović, a 103-year-old resident of Donji Podgradci near Gradiška, continues to maintain an active lifestyle through daily agricultural work. Despite her advanced age and leg issues, she refuses to stop tending to her garden, where she currently grows onions and lettuce.
Dojčinović credits her longevity to constant physical activity, stating, “If I didn't work, I would have died long ago.” She recounted a lifetime of labor, including plowing, mowing, and driving machinery, noting that she has performed nearly every agricultural task since her time in the partisans. Even now, she uses a walking stick to assist her while planting, maintaining that work is essential to her well-being.
