Jelena Janković, a former world number one tennis player from Belgrade, has reflected on her professional journey and the challenges faced during her career.
After training in the United States as a teenager, Janković rose through the junior ranks to become a top senior player. Her career reached a significant milestone in 2008 when she reached the US Open final and achieved the ranking of world number one. Although she secured 15 WTA titles, she never won a Grand Slam title.
Throughout her career, Janković dealt with various physical injuries to her hips, knees, and back, as well as the intense pressure of maintaining a top global ranking. One of her notable later achievements included reaching the final of the 2010 French Open.
