Jelgava implements traffic restrictions for Night Half Marathon
Jelgava is implementing traffic restrictions in preparation for the upcoming Night Half Marathon. Starting from 15:00 on Friday, stopping and standing is prohibited along the race route. These restrictions will remain in effect through Saturday until the race markings are removed.
The event center will be located at Pasta Sala, with the race starting at Jāņa Čakstes bulvāris. The route includes Zemgales prospekts, Katoļu iela, Lielā iela, Atmodas iela, Lapskalna iela, Uzvaras parks, and the area around Jelgava Castle.
Scheduled activities for Saturday, September 5, include an Expo tent opening at 12:00, children's races at 19:30, a foam party, a torch run, the half marathon (which also serves as the Latvian Championship), and 5km and 10km races. Awards are expected around midnight. Organizers have provided parking near Jelgava Castle and will offer a free bus service to Riga once traffic is restored.
