Jelićka hosts Velikogospojinski sabor traditional singing festival

The Velikogospojinski sabor, a traditional ojkača singing gathering, was held at the temple port in Jelićka as part of the 61st ‘Kočićev zbor’ festival. The event brought together 25 traditional singing groups, including ‘Tromeđa’ from Slavićka, ‘Janjac’ from Svodna, and ‘Rakelići-Busnovi’.

Organizers noted that the inclusion of traditional Kozara ojkača into the festival was a decision made last year to ensure the preservation of this singing style for younger generations. The event was hosted by the ‘Timar’ male singing group and the Jelićka church community. The Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska supported the inclusion of this gathering into the ‘Kočićevi dani’ festivities.
