Jelly Roll considers leaving music career to follow spiritual direction

Country singer Jelly Roll has expressed uncertainty regarding his future in the music industry, stating he is willing to leave his career if led by his faith. During a conversation with Y’all Access Radio’s Kelly Sutton at the Grand Ole Opry, the artist noted that he has achieved his primary professional goals, including winning three Grammy Awards, topping the Billboard 200, and becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, indicated a desire to step away from the chaos of the music business to focus on personal growth, sobriety, and spiritual direction. He stated that he is currently engaging in therapy and studying the Bible to determine his next steps, adding that he would be willing to pursue entirely different work, such as serving at a homeless shelter, if he felt called to do so.

The period of reflection follows a time of significant personal and professional shifts, including recent Grammy wins and a divorce.
