Jellycat opens first German experience store at Berlin's KaDeWe
British plush toy manufacturer Jellycat has opened its first German experience store at the KaDeWe luxury department store in Berlin. The new retail space is designed to resemble a carnival, where staff members perform theatrical tasks such as “grilling” plush sausages or “preparing” fabric iced coffees before packaging them for customers.
The launch has drawn significant interest, particularly from adult collectors who participate in social media trends. KaDeWe General Manager Sandra Swiderski noted that stuffed animals have become a major success for the department store, highlighting a broader trend where adults are increasingly purchasing toys and collectible figures.
This Berlin location joins Jellycat’s existing international experience spaces in London, Paris, and New York. The brand is well-known for its unique designs, including food-themed items like croissants, sushi rolls, and sausages, often characterized by small eyes.
